For the audition, please prepare to sing the song selection for the vocal part you are auditioning for.  You can prepare and audition for more than one vocal part.  Sheet music and practice tracks are at the bottom of this page.  You will be singing your part with two other live or recorded singers.

Soprano 1 - Please learn the sop 1 selection from Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy

Soprano 2 - Please learn the sop 2 selection from Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree

​

Alto - Please learn the alto selection from Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree

​

ALL SINGERS, please be prepared to sing a portion of any song you choose, a cappella

 

Important Info Before You Audition:

​

All singers that pass auditions will be required to attend two all-weekend rehearsals.  Singers that are reliable, punctual, and show the ability to learn the music at the requisite level by the end of rehearsals will be asked to join the main HoneyBees group immediately.  Singers who require more time to learn the music will be asked to join our volunteer group, Bobbie and the Soxers, until they are able to demonstrate they are ready for the main group.

Singers that move on to The HoneyBees:

 

• must borrow or purchase a costume.

• must be able to access and use our online page that contains scheduling, sheet music, etc.

• will pay a one time dues of $65 to help cover the costs of group music licenses and insurance, and a HoneyBees t-shirt.  If you are still interested in auditioning, but cannot afford the dues at this time, we do have options. Please let us know when you audition.

Once you are an official HoneyBee, you can expect to be paid $30+ per hour for most performances, and more during holidays.  Some performances are volunteer or tipped.  Rehearsal/travel time is not paid.

​

There is no minimum performance requirement once you become a member.
